Some projects completed.

My 'Twisting Twenty' quilt is finished now and beautifully quilted by LG Quilting at Portland. It was a lot of fun to make this quilt. A good way of using up 20 fat quarters.

While I love making quilts and will continue to do so, I thought it would be nice to make something else for a change. So I made this shopping bag. The pattern is in a book called Sew Serendipity Bags. Its called a Green Grocery Bag. It's one of those bags that you keep in your handbag and then pull it out when you realise you need a bag. Hence....

It was a lot of fun to make and holds quite a lot of stuff. I made the medium sized bag.

Our garden at home is looking beautiful at the moment. Last spring we were away on our wonderful trip around Australia so we missed all the lovely azaleas and other flowering plants in all their glory.

I will leave you with a picture of Chloe, the orphan wombat. She has put on so much weight but is a wriggly worm to hold onto!

Signs of Spring

The garden at Mt Victoria is largely native bush with a few hardy plants that have survived years and years of neglect. Even a poor little cyclamen in the fernery has managed a single flower.

We have recently planted some bulbs and some lavender but just last week two of the old fruit trees have burst into bloom.

Here are a few pics of the little hints of colour in the otherwise fairly drab landscape.

Even these small spots of colour brighten up the garden no end and inspire our efforts to get more colourful plants flowering in the garden. I have planted a whole stack of gladioli bulbs and am really looking forward to them coming up in the summer.

Some more blue...

Just a quick post to show you the little plus quilt that I have made for the new addition to our family due in January. It was a lot of fun to make and I am very happy with the result. All the fabrics came from my stash and I used up some wadding that I had left over from other projects too. The backing is a pretty soft batik in blues and greys.

My leadlight window is coming along well. Its about half way done and I am getting more comfortable with the tools. It's a very exciting process watching the design taking shape especially now that I have started using the coloured glass. No pics yet. At the risk of sounding like a reality show, I'm saving them for the big reveal!!!!
